Born into a musically inclined family, Sahil developed a passion for music at an early age. Inspired by his father, who performed the Shahnai in local and Bollywood productions, he began his musical journey by learning traditional Kashmiri instruments such as the Saaz-e-Kashmir and Dholki. In 2012, he dedicated himself to mastering the Santoor, an instrument deeply rooted in the cultural identity of Kashmir. He further strengthened his musical foundation by earning a Master's degree in Music from the University of Kashmir.

Sahil received advanced training under renowned Sufiyana music maestros, including Master Mohammad Ismail Bhat and Adil Tibetbakal, refining his expertise in classical and traditional Kashmiri music. His artistry has been recognized through prestigious scholarships from the Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), New Delhi, reflecting his dedication to preserving India's rich musical traditions.
